Darby Feldwinn runs two large outreach groups at UCSB, the 5th Grade Outreach Program and SciTrek. The 5th Grade Outreach Program brings 5th grade student to UCSB to participate in hand-on physical science activities. SciTrek focuses on promoting student-centered inquiry activities in 2nd -5th grade classrooms to help students gain a better understanding of the nature of science. Darby's main research focus is on elementary science curriculum development and assessing how students learn science. She will be helping run the outreach portion of CenSURF.
